This study will help you investigate how 2 commonly available substances affect your cognition and attention.
Caffeine (50-400mg) vs. Caffeine (50-400mg) + l-theanine (~250mg),
Caffeine is the world’s most widely consumed psychoactive drug and l-theanine is a naturally occurring amino acid most commonly found in green tea
What you will do
You will complete a short series of brain teasers every day. These tasks are meant to measure creative thinking, processing speed, and visual attention. You will take caffeine on its own and compare it against caffeine with l-theanine.
What you will learn
At the end of the study, you will see whether the two treatments have an effect on your brain teaser performance (and if so, how large of an effect).
What you need to get started
An iPhone, a caffeine drink of your choice, and a source of l-theanine (either a supplement or in a naturally occurring beverage like green tea)
