Strategic Marketing and Social Media Engagement Consultant
Immediate opening for a consultant that can refine our strategic marketing plan and define campaigns for a product launch related to digital health research.
We are soon launching an amazing new digital health platform that aims to help people compare the efficacy of various treatments and choose the one that works best for them. Initially, we’ll be focusing on common wellness related goals like improving mental focus and getting better sleep.
This platform has been developed at the Institute for Next Generation Healthcare, a research institute at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Our institute has offices and team members in NYC and Silicon Valley.
We have developed a strategic marketing plan for launching this free app and engaging key communities online. While some of the methods used in this app date back to the 18th century, most people will have never heard of them. In fact, very few people have ever had the opportunity to take advantage of these methods for their own personal health choices. We hope to change this!
Before the advent of smartphone apps and wearable devices it was simply impractical to do this kind of thing at scale with pen and paper. Needless to say, a lot has changed in the past 300 years! Part of our mission is to advance research on these important methods and tools, so we can figure out how to empower more people to use them for their own benefit.
Who we are looking for
We’re looking for someone that can refine and implement our strategic marketing plan. First, you will need to learn about our product, existing content assets, the user segments / personas we’ve defined, and the online communities we’ve identified. Next, we’ll need you to polish everything, and then roll-up your sleeves and get creative. The real work will focus on building out our campaigns, from soup-to-nuts, across various social media and online communities. This means understanding how best to develop content for specific user segments and social media channels, and then adapting our existing content assets and writing new content for campaigns that you define.
This is a great opportunity for someone excited about being on the frontiers of digital health and public engagement in science. With the maturation of digital apps and wearables, health research institutes and healthcare organizations can increasingly extend their reach beyond the patients that walk into the clinic. This is both liberating and intimidating for conventional health research because the practice of consumer engagement is largely uncharted territory, especially in academia.
This is a short-term consulting role, we imagine it will begin more-or-less immediately and wrap-up before the end of this summer. Remote work is encouraged. You’ll need to be able to work independently with regular check-ins via video chat and slack. We think this is an ideal summer opportunity for students (graduate level, or highly motivated individuals of any educational background) or independent consultants that are excited by the chance to contribute their expertise to a very unique digital health product launch. We’ve got other platform, product, and research study launches coming soon, so if it works out, there may be new opportunities down the road.
